Onboarding by hand doesn't scale
Ulimo ran its team on Discord, and interns came in waves. Every new person meant the same manual routine: welcome them, get them the right role, make sure nothing gets missed. Fine once. Tedious every single time, and easy to drop steps when you're busy.
That's a job for a bot, not a person.
Join the server, get set up
The bot watches the server and handles the setup a human used to do. New intern joins, they get welcomed and set up with the right access without anyone lifting a finger. Intern management lives in the bot instead of in someone's memory.
Built with Node.js on the Discord API during my time at Ulimo. It's a small tool that did one job well: nobody had to think about onboarding anymore.
Internal tool. The code stayed at Ulimo.
